I scooped a coughing Koli up before I jumped into our portal.

The instant I departed the crafting realm and arrived on Other World, violent tremors shook the ground. Astrid was crouched down, looking around scared to death. I grabbed her and threw her over my shoulder like before. Something big approached the dead spider, so without any hesitation, I ran with the girls over my shoulders in the opposite direction. We went for at least an hour like that, and nothing attacked during the mad dash. We did catch some herbivores' attention, but as we shot by we were quickly ignored as too small to be dangerous. Eventually, the steps of the new behemoth no longer could be felt through the soil.

The jungle broke into a nice clearing that was a footprint from a few years ago, giving me some refuge and terrifying thoughts.

I arrived on a nice hill with a decent viewpoint that was likely the crown of the foot.

Unfortunately, the cloak I’d put on Koli never left with us, meaning she was still nude. This didn’t bother me because I was thirsting for her, it bothered me because she couldn’t survive like this. Meanwhile, the sun was setting, and because I didn’t expect to camp, I didn’t have proper supplies to live in the wild.

“Daniel?” Koli said, blinking herself awake when I set them down.

I snorted. “Convenient time to wake up.”

Astrid finally joined in, “What the hell are we doing? Don’t you ever leave me like that again! I got dropped to the ground and left alone on another planet surrounded by things that want to kill me. Why did she disappear with you and I didn’t? Can we take a break and talk?”

“My cave?” Koli glanced around. “We can’t go there. Please. I want to live. Who is this?”

“This is Astrid. Astrid, this is Koli. I have no idea where we are, but we aren’t at your cave. Something huge is in the jungle. Super big. As in this clearing is an old footprint the size of a city block. Anyway, I ran away from it about twenty minutes ago, coming for this hill,” I said.

“Is she a woman you want to mate? What about my brother?”

“He’s doing fine if I had to guess. No, we’re not mated.”

She glanced at her arm, flexing her fingers while running her other hand over the smooth skin. “You - you have healing magic?”

I reached into her armpit. “Uh, no, you do.” I pulled out the gem and stuffed it in a cargo pocket where it wouldn’t make me stay awake for four days.

“I have ice magic, not healing.”

I removed my upper armor, then peeled off my shirt, giving it to her. She stood, sliding a hand up my abs until she cupped a peck. Her second hand grabbed my other peck, and she squeezed.

“I like your man boobs,” she complimented, not even being slightly modest or shy about it.

I sucked in a flustered breath. “I’m not sure how I am ever going to explain this one to my mother.
